Maps

The maps feature allows attendees to view an interactive map with pins. Clicking on the pins will show information about that point of interest.

To set up a new map, follow the steps below.

  1. Navigate to the App Layout section, and select App Screens from the navigation bar.
  2. Using the "+New" dropdown, select "Map".
  3. Give your map a name, and you can choose to associate the map with an existing location. In most cases, you should leave that field blank.
  4. Click Save.

Adding Pins

Once you've created your map, you can pinch and zoom on the map to navigate to your event's location.

Once you're in the right spot, you can look to the left of the screen and see all of your available locations. You can drag and drop them on the map to set their pin.

To add new locations, please refer to the Locations article.

Adding Generic Location

Sometimes, you might not need to create a dedicated location for each pin. For instance, if you'd like to add bathrooms or ATMs to the map.

In these cases, you can select the "+Location" icon on the top right of the map. From here, you can drag and drop some common points of interest on the map.

Map Filters

Once you start adding a lot of pins to a map, it can get hard to read on your phone. So Map Filters lets users select the locations they want to see.

For example, if you select "Bar," "Parking," and "ATM" from the "+Map Filters", then users will see a dropdown on their device's map. If they click "Parking," all of the pins will disappear from the map, except for those associated with parking lots.

Overlays

Map Overlays let you add an image on top of the geo map. For example, if you have a music festival that occurs in an otherwise empty field, you can upload a stylized image to overlay on that field.

You can click the "+Overlay" button to add a new file. The supported files are JPEG and PNG. File size must not exceed 20.0 MB.

Once you have the file added, you can drag it, zoom it, and rotate it so that it properly aligns with the geo map underneath.

Advanced Features

Apply Zoom Threshold

Set zoom level on CMS of when location will change from dots to large map pins.
This is done through the "Settings" menu on the maps app layout. Either set the zoom level manually or click on "set to current zoom level" to use the current zoom level of the map.

Set Large Pins Per Location Tag Group
